Distrackt Records welcome Miguel Pessoa a.k.a Echobeat to their ranks. Miguel operates one of Portugal’s top techno imprints – Toxic Recordings, he joins the Distrackt family with his three track Uncharted EP, marking the Irish label’s seventh release.

A respected Dj on the Lisbon underground scene, in 2012, after a near twenty year hiatus Echobeat actively returned to the music scene, launching his Toxic Recordings record label, initially to showcase his evolving productions.

The Echobeat project has a distinct electronic identity. A sound characterised by rigid drums, cutting synths, and minimalist bleak samples, edging toward the darker side of the techno continuum.

Uncharted EP is a three-track dark techno rollercoaster, fragmented with industrial soundscapes

Cut Him Open: A driving opener with a haunting vocal creeping up from deep. A stabbing bassline accompanied by atmospheric pads begin to dominate the track before it breaks into a hypnotic vocal that serves to build tension before releasing with an array of hats and tough percussive elements.

Uncharted: Is unleashing the monster from the cage, building up on a heavy industrial bassline. Rides into an explosive arrangement of beast like stabs, with hats and snares trying to add light to this dark techno animal.

Weird Tonal: Hypnotic stabs with a melodic feel introduce a deep bassline. Airy drones and pads add some warmth. The stab lead captivates you while the bassline and arrangement of percussion drives it forward.
